Navigating the maze
In the past week, we have seen between 20 and 40 inches of snow. The total depends upon who you ask and where they measured the accumulation. For the most part, the roads are passable. The major roads are better than the side streets.
I went shopping today and felt like I was trapped in a maze. In some places, the snow piles are six or eight feet tall. That makes it hard to see around the corner. It was even worse in the parking lots where some of the piles made the entrances to the rows only wide enough for a single car. Tall piles of snow separated the rows and blocked off a few ends. People were parked much further from the stores as snow covered many of the parking spaces. And, finding your car was a little more of a challenge as you couldn’t always see over the piles to know if your car was in the next row.
We have had the temperature get above freezing during the day and below freezing at night. That is the perfect condition for the snow to freeze into a block that is not going anywhere until it melts. Hopefully, that won’t be too long.
