Third time is the charm…

Filed under: Life in General — Mike @ 2:09 am

Guess what, the forecast is once again calling for a big snow storm. We have had two storms this winter, first on December 19th and the second this past weekend, on February 6th. Now, they are saying we will get another 10-15 inches of snow between noon today and some time tomorrow.

I have always thought the DC area news likes to hype winter storms. I can remember several times when they said we would be getting five or six inches of snow and getting less than two inches (if it even snowed). They have also missed a few storms all together.

Back in December, they started talking about getting a foot or more of snow several days before the storm hit the area. The same thing happened last week. I kept thinking that the snow would disappear from the forecast at the last minute or that we would get significantly less than predicted. But both times, their predictions came true.

So here I am again. I have piles of snow several feet high from Saturday’s snow storm and the possibility of another foot of snow. I hope they are wrong, but feel the need to prepare. I really don’t have a place to put any more snow if I have to clear the driveway. I will have to try to compact the current piles or move the snow across the street to make room for more. I don’t think it will be an easy process, but I don’t know what else to do.
