Last night, I went to the opening night of the Big Apple Circus at the Dulles Town Center. This was my first time seeing the Big Apple Circus, but my third circus of the year as I had already seen the Ringling Brothers and Cole Brothers circuses.

Last night, I went to my third unicycle practice session. Officially, it is listed as a Beginner Unicycle lesson, but it is more an open gym with people on unicycles. The lessons are offered through the Fauquier County Parks and Recreation at the Vint Hill Village Green Community Center. The UniStars Unicycling Showtroupe meets every Wednesday from 7:00-8:00pm to practice for shows and parades. Before the group practice begins, they have beginner lessons.

Near the back entrance to South Riding is a family run farm, Cox Farms. They have a farmers market that during the growing season sells flowers and fresh produce. In the fall, they host their annual fall festival. I have stopped there a few times and drive past it often when I am taking the short cut to the movie theatre in Centreville. Driving past the farm, I always saw a space ship, volcano, and other structures in the fields behind the farmers market. But, since I don’t have young children, I never went to their fall festival. Last year, I had noticed they were advertising employement opportunities for their fall festival and in it they specifically mentioned they were looking for aliens (actors) for the hayride. I was too busy last year, but this summer, I watched their website for information about their fall festival.

Buddy has been on my mind lately. He will be 12 sometime in December or January. I don’t know exactly when he was born because I rescued him from the Fairfax County Animal Shelter in August 1998. We actually celebrated our 10-year anniversary together a few weeks ago.

I have been meaning to post a review of my week at Mooseburger Clown Arts Camp (Moose Camp). I guess, I was waiting until I had all of my pictures posted on my website, but that is going slower than expected. I think I took more than 400 pictures and have so far managed to post pictures from the first two days at camp.
On Saturday, I volunteered at the International Children’s Festival at Wolf Trap. I handed out programs to the guests as they entered the park. I also helped answer questions they had. I volunteered because I like to volunteer for special events and because I knew they were going to have clowns at the event.
